Prevention Review Council

The Prevention Review Council (PRC) oversees the peer review of all cancer prevention applications submitted to CPRIT. Members of the PRC chair each of the prevention peer review committees. The PRC assesses the evaluations completed by the prevention peer review committees by conducting a programmatic review and creates a final list of proposals to recommend for CPRIT grant awards. This list is submitted to CPRIT's Program Integration Committee and Oversight Committee. Texas law affords great weight to the review council’s funding recommendations, requiring the Program Integration Committee’s final recommendations forwarded to the CPRIT Oversight Committee for funding awards to be “substantially based” on the list submitted by the review council.
