August 24, 2018
Dr. Glen Liszczak was born in Manville, New Jersey and graduated summa cum laude from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology. As an undergraduate, Glen held summer research positions at Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals and the University of California, San Diego, where he worked on the development of nanoparticle-based chemotherapeutic delivery systems.
Inspired by the power of interdisciplinary science to tackle problems in cancer biology, Glen pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania under the supervision of Dr. Ronen Marmorstein at the Wistar Institute Cancer Center. As an NIH Chemistry-BiologyInterface Fellow in the Marmorstein lab, Glen became interested in a family of protein-modifying enzymes known as amino-terminal acetyltransferases (NATs), which are misregulated in numerous malignancies, including lung and breast cancers.
